No single leadership style works in every situation, and this session shows you how to read the moment and adjust. It is part of the Leadership Masterclass series from The Industry Portal, written for finance professionals in treasury, liquidity, ALM, and regulatory reporting who manage teams under real pressure and changing demands.
In this lesson we walk through the Hersey Blanchard Situational Leadership Model and its four styles, Directing, Coaching, Supporting, and Delegating. You will see how to assess where a team member sits in terms of competence and commitment, then choose the approach that actually helps them deliver. We also cover how context, urgency, and task complexity shape the call you make, and we are honest about where this model falls short so you know when to lean on it and when not to.
By the end you should be able to lead different people with more clarity, set clearer expectations, and build stronger working relationships without guesswork.
