Capital and regulation

SREP

The process supervisors use to assess a bank's risks, governance and capital, and to set any additional requirements.

The Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process is how regulators form a rounded view of a bank, drawing on its ICAAP, ILAAP, business model and governance.

The outcome can be extra capital or liquidity requirements and specific supervisory measures, so it directly shapes how much capital a bank must hold.
